It is customary for alarm system to be wired into the mains power of the house and for every sensor and the control panel to be connected by wires.
The benefits of this is that the system should never fail as even if the mains power were to be disrupted then the battery backup would kick in and the alarm would still operate for several hours.
With the current technology a wireless alarm will only ever get to grade 2 for insurance purposes and for that reason you may need to use a wired system as some policies will require you to have a grade 3 alarm system installed.
The installation of a wired system can be more expensive than a wireless system. The wires need to be hidden and this is okay if it is a new property as the house or premises often is prewired. The additional cost of installation can be offset by the reduced cost of the sensors and control panels compared to the wireless system.
ACE Security can install either a wired or a wireless system and we do not necessarily favour one over the other. We will carry out a site survey and our recommendation will be based on the system that will work best given your property set up.
